It's a little after 2:30 in the morning in Rowlett, Texas, when 26-year-old Darlie Routier calls 911. Her sons, six-year-old Devon and five-year-old Damon, have been stabbed. Darlie survives with a knife wound across her neck, and for the first officers on scene, she's the surviving victim of a home invasion. Twelve days later, she's arrested for capital murder.
So what changed? We're going back through the cut window screen, the knife on the utility room floor, the sock found 70 yards from the house, the silly string video that only showed half the story, and the attorney switch 11 weeks before trial that still doesn't sit right. I have questions. Some of this is suspicious. Some of it is just contamination and bad luck. This episode traces every claim back to trial transcripts, sworn affidavits, and named sources β no embellishment, just what's actually on the record.
