The Avery Trial: Episode 16 - Civil Lawsuit? I Wasn't Aware of That

Today, we hear from Deputy Inspector Todd Hermann at Manitowoc County and a key player in the early hours after Teresa Halbach’s RAV4 was found.

He claims the vehicle was never disturbed. That scene security was airtight. And that, oh yeah, he wasn’t aware if his own colleagues had been deposed in Steven Avery’s $36 million lawsuit against the department. Sure, Jan.

We also learn his brother is one of the highest-ranking officers in the department, because of course he is.

We’re talking questionable oversight, convenient memory lapses, and a scene that was allegedly “protected”—even though civilians somehow wandered right onto the lot.

Ask yourself: Does any of this actually make sense?

Hi! Hello! I’m Kristine.
You might know me from Beach House 34, but the podcast/vodcast is evolving. Welcome to TrueCrime.fm.

I’ve always done the heavy lifting and the deep research, but the old name just wasn't cutting it anymore. This new name fits the mission. Don't you think?

No fluff, no theories—just the facts, from start to finish. I’m glad you’re here for the next chapter. I’ll see you soon.
